The talk presents the learning-based methods and control strategies that enable autonomous vehicles to operate under extreme conditions and make robust decisions in rapidly changing environments. Through case studies from competitions such as the Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League, the lecture highlights how autonomous racing is pushing the boundaries of safety, reliability, and vehicle performance.
