IV 2027 — IEEE Intelligent Vehicles Symposium

IV 2027 is the 38th IEEE Intelligent Vehicles Symposium, organized by the IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society (ITSS). Researchers, engineers, practitioners, and students are invited to present their latest work and discuss research and applications for intelligent vehicles and vehicle-infrastructure cooperation.

The symposium will include technical sessions, workshops, poster sessions, exhibitions, and more.

ICVES 2026 — IEEE International Conference on Vehicular Electronics and Safety

ICVES 2026 is the 20th edition of the IEEE International Conference on Vehicular Electronics and Safety, an annual forum sponsored by the IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society (ITSS). It serves as a premier interdisciplinary platform for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to present and discuss the latest advances in intelligent vehicular electronics and safety.

This year’s edition spotlights the evolving landscape of vehicular electronics, intelligent systems, and safety technologies, with particular emphasis on innovations and unique solutions emerging from Latin America and their resonance around the world. The conference theme is “Advancing Safe, Inclusive and Sustainable Mobility in Emerging Road Ecosystems.”

IEEE ITSS Hackathon @ ITSC 2026 — Smart Mobility Data Challenge

The IEEE ITSC 2026 Conference Committee invites innovators, students, professionals, and ITS enthusiasts to participate in the IEEE ITSS Hackathon during ITSC 2026 in Naples, themed around the “ITSS Smart Mobility Data Challenge.”

The competition is a 4-hour, data-centric event built on AWS Cloud services. Participants explore a heterogeneous “Data Hypercube” and propose solutions to real-world urban mobility challenges. No advanced programming skills are required — the focus is on data analysis and KPI optimization.

2026 IEEE ITSS Korea Chapter Academic Presentation Competition (3MT)

The IEEE ITSS Korea Chapter is holding its 2026 academic presentation competition in the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) format — this year’s chapter academic award, simplified to enable broader participation. Participants present their research to a non-specialist audience in a video of up to 3 minutes with a single slide, in English, submitted as an unlisted YouTube link. Eligibility has been relaxed this year: the competition is open to both students and professionals at Korean institutions.

Registration deadline: July 22, 2026 (Wed), 23:59 KST. Please register via the registration form before the deadline.

Abstract

The talk presents the Norwegian Public Roads Administration’s open vulnerability assessment program for GNSS-based positioning systems. As road transport increasingly depends on satellite navigation for everything from logistics to emergency services, threats such as jamming, spoofing, and meaconing have moved from theoretical concerns to operational risk.

The presentation is organized in three parts. The why addresses the policy and safety motivation behind transparent, government-led vulnerability testing. The what covers an evaluation methodology built around more than 150 real-world attack simulations with broad international participation. The how describes the practical organization of large-scale field experiments at Bleik, Norway, where the Jammertest exercise takes place. The talk closes with a discussion of how openly published findings inform resilient design choices for transportation infrastructure.

Abstract

Urban traffic congestion imposes substantial environmental and economic costs on modern cities. This talk presents recent advances in smarter traffic signal control that bridge theoretical developments and real-world deployment.

The first part focuses on a real-time feedback-based Max-Pressure controller, commonly referred to as adaptive signal control, designed for scalable implementation using low-cost Bluetooth sensors. The second part highlights data-driven optimization through Google’s Green Light project, which leverages large-scale probe trajectory data to generate traffic signal timing recommendations that reduce emissions, without requiring new infrastructure or data sharing from cities.
